Southern Region: Public Efforts To Achieve Food Security Bear Encouraging Outcome, Administrator Says
In a meeting he conducted with the inhabitants of Mai-Mine, the Administrator of the Southern region, Mr. Mustafa Nurhusein, said that the relentless efforts of the inhabitants are playing decisive role in the conservation of soil and water as well as expanding modern agricultural methods, including irrigation towards achieving food security.
Mai-Mine, 24 June 2010 – In a meeting he conducted with the inhabitants of Mai-Mine, the Administrator of the Southern region, Mr. Mustafa Nurhusein, said that the relentless efforts of the inhabitants are playing decisive role in the conservation of soil and water as well as expanding modern agricultural methods, including irrigation towards achieving food security.
Commending the active participation of the inhabitants of the region in land leveling and cultivating farmland, the Administrator expressed conviction that the effort would bear the desired outcome.
Mr. Mustafa also explained that impressive achievements have been registered in endeavors to expand social services, including education and health.
Following the meeting with the inhabitants of Mai-Mine, the Administrator conducted a visit to the villages of Golgol Mariam, Hantsetsa and Derhlase to observe the construction of residential houses at government expense.
