Stepped-up efforts being made to prevent malaria infection

At a lecture given in Adi-Keih sub-zone, the need to enhance the awareness of the inhabitants and maintain sound ecology was stressed so as to prevent the prevalence of malaria before the onset of rainy season.

Adi-Keih, 1 July 2010 – At a lecture given in Adi-Keih sub-zone, the need to enhance the awareness of the inhabitants and maintain sound ecology was stressed so as to prevent the prevalence of malaria before the onset of rainy season.

In the meeting in which representatives from 21 administrative areas took part, lectures were given by experts both theoretical and practical focusing on the prevention of malaria and ways of combating it. It was also disclosed that about 9,000 mosquito nets are ready for distribution to the public as well as medicaments.

The head of Adi-Keih Hospital, Mr. Tesfatsion Tesfamariam, said that the lecture was part of the continuous endeavors to promote health services and called on health personnel in the sub-zone to put up greater efforts.
