Eritrean Teachers Association Conducts 5th Conference

The Eritrean Teachers Association conducted its 5th conference on 2nd and 3rd of July in the Central Region Administration hall.

Asmara, 4 July 2010 – The Eritrean Teachers Association conducted its 5th conference on 2nd, 3rd of July in the Central Region Administration hall.

Speaking at the conference, the Minister of Education, Mr. Semere Russom, underscored the paramount contribution of teachers in cultivating a promising youth. He also noted that any plans outlined in this sector should be play a complimentary role to the successful implementation of teaching-learning process, cultural development as well as national development programs.

Expressing conviction that the conference is not only providing an opportunity to evaluate strong and weak sides of the association, but also to draft important decisions in the process of pedagogy, Mr. Semere highlighted the Education Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with the association so as to attain the desired goals. 

The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Tsehaye Tsegai on his part presented extensive briefings regarding the past activities of the Eritrean Teachers Association.

The participants finally held extensive discussions and elected an executive body for the coming two years.
