7,000 Hectares Of Fruits And Vegetables Cultivated In The Southern Region

The cultivation of fruits and vegetable over 7,000 hectares in the Southern region is playing major role in satisfying and stabilizing market demand, disclosed Mr. Zerit Tewoldeberhan, general director of economic development in the region.

Mendefera, 4 July 2010 – The cultivation of fruits and vegetable over 7,000 hectares in the Southern region is playing major role in satisfying and stabilizing market demand, disclosed Mr. Zerit Tewoldeberhan, general director of economic development in the region.

In a meeting he conducted with the inhabitants of the sub-zones of Tserona, Mai-Aini and Adi-Keih, he explained the benefits of the cultivate farmland, and said that about 240 hectares have been cultivated for animal feed.

The participants on their part commended the government’s endeavors to improve agricultural productivity, and reiterated readiness to redouble their efforts to successfully implement   development programs.
