Southern Red Sea Region: Youth Reiterate Readiness To Step Up Participation In Development Programs

Asmara, 1 August 2010 – In a tour they conducted to observe undertaken development programs in the Gash-Barka region, youths from Southern Red Sea region reiterated readiness to enhance participation in development programs.

The youth conducted a tour in Aligider, Gerset, Fanco Rawi and Fanco Tsimu dams, Tekombia Bridge and others, while various experts extended in-depth briefings regarding development programs underway in the region.

Stating that the role of youth is crucial for the success of development programs, the Manager of the Segen Construction Company in the region, Mr. Teklai Tesfazgi, pointed out that the aim of the development programs is mainly to ensure economic emancipation.

Finally, Head of the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUEYS) branch in the Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Ismail Mussa, called on the youth to boost their participation in the national development programs.
