Women Training Center In Eden Finalized

Inline with initiatives taken by the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) to boost the capacity of women, the NUEW branch in Jeddah enabled the construction of a training center at a cost of 1.7 million Nakfa in Eden semi-urban area. 

Elaberad, 1 August 2010 – Inline with initiatives taken by the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) to boost the capacity of women, the NUEW branch in Jeddah enabled the construction of a training center at a cost of 1.7 million Nakfa in Eden semi-urban area. 

During the inauguration ceremony of the training center, the head of the NUEW in Anseba region, Ms. Alem Belai, stated that the primary aim of the center is to pave the way for women to becoming self-sufficient.

The head of finance and administration in the NUEW, Ms. Azieb Berhane on her stated the importance of the center and called on women in the sub zone to make good use of the opportunities provided for them.

Explaining the development of women signifies the development of the country, head of the NUEW branch in Jeddah, Ms. Saba Sebhatu reminded that Eritrean women have fought for independence along side their male counterparts and called on them to strive hard to improve their livelihood.

Various prizes were handed to individuals and institutions that made commendable contributions towards the construction of the center.

The training center is equipped with 20 computers and 7 rooms, reports disclosed.
