Vigorous Endeavors Being Made In Molqi Sub-Zone To Achieve Food Security

Vigorous endeavors are being made in Molqi sub-zone with a view to achieving food security, according to Mr. Ateweberhan Yosef, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone. He noted that the local inhabitants are redoubling efforts towards achieving food security through conserving every drop of rain. 
Molqi, 3 August 2010 – Vigorous endeavors are being made in Molqi sub-zone with a view to achieving food security, according to Mr. Ateweberhan Yosef, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone. He noted that the local inhabitants are redoubling efforts towards achieving food security through conserving every drop of rain. 

Mr. Goitom Semere, expert in soil and water conservation in the branch office, said on his part that a total of 425 Km-long terracing has so far been put in place, while over 17,000 cubic meters of embankments have been constructed through popular campaign.

The local inhabitants highlighted the significance of such activities in boosting agricultural production.
