Internal rules and regulations have been adopted in Tessenei sub-zone aimed at promoting active and equitable student participation in education. Tessenei, 24 September 2010 – Internal rules and regulations have been adopted in Tessenei sub-zone aimed at promoting active and equitable student participation in education.
The head of the Education Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, Mr. Mohammed Hassen, said that the newly adopted rules and regulations essentially focus on children whose age is due for education and those who drop out from school due to inappropriate reasons would be put into effect shortly. In this regard, he stated that the necessary steps would be taken against parents who fail to school as a result of mere excuses. Village elders, acting heads and area administrations that failed to fulfill their obligation to this end would equally face punishment, he added.
Moreover, Mr. Mohammed indicated that additional classrooms would be constructed in Talatasher and Sitimo schools, in addition to building a Pedagogy Research Center in Tessenei and the construction of teachers’ residence in Sitimo.
The Administrator of Tessenei sub-zone, Mr. Tekleberhan Gebrewold, stated on his part that the Government is exerting strenuous efforts to ensure the provision of equitable educational opportunity in all parts of the country. Urging parents to send their children to school, he stressed the need for taking community-based initiatives towards encouraging teachers.
