Rahaita, 1 October 2010 – The health station in Rahaita is providing commendable service along with supplying the necessary medicines to the public, stated the local inhabitants.
They explained that the station that was opened in 1997 is rendering service for over 18 hours, besides making drugs available at a very minimum price. The local inhabitants particularly commended the efficient service being provided as regards pre-and post-delivery care which is making significant contribution in reducing mother and child mortality rate.
They went on to say that public awareness continues to grow as a result of the lectures being offered on a daily basis on various topics, including prevention of diseases, promoting environmental sanitation and mother and child care.
The head of the health station, Mr. Ali Hassen, indicated that the station is providing medical service focusing on vaccination, delivery, out-patient, voluntary blood testing, pre-and post-delivery care, diabetes and T.B. care, among others. He further pointed out that the lectures and campaigns are bringing about noticeable improvement in public awareness regarding modern medical treatment.
The health station is providing service to the inhabitants of Rahaita, Gahro, Besidro, Halieb, Kiloma and Buri.
