Anseba region: Concerted action underway to upgrade student performance

In an assessment meeting held in Keren town, the Education Ministry’s branch in Anseba region disclosed that concerted action is being taken, in coordination with all institutions and the society at large, towards upgrading student performance.
Keren, 1 October 2010 – In an assessment meeting held in Keren town, the Education Ministry’s branch in Anseba region disclosed that concerted action is being taken, in coordination with all institutions and the society at large, towards upgrading student performance.

The meeting conducted under the theme: “Growth and Prosperity through Education and Training” stressed the need for fostering close coordination and cooperation towards strengthening academic activities and scoring excellent results.

The head of the branch office, Mr. Bokretsion Habtemichael, stated that efficient managerial capacity has a vital role to play towards ensuring the competence and quality of education.  Urging school directors to enhance contribution in directing teachers and students, he commended the dedication demonstrated by participants of the meeting for the success of the investment being made in the education sector.

The participants also put forth resolutions and recommendations aimed at upgrading student performance.

Meanwhile, the meeting closely scrutinized  last year’s academic activities and mapped out action plan for 2010/2011 at the sub-zonal level through properly identifying the loopholes encountered in the previous scholastic year.

Also speaking on the occasion, the Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, called on all institutions and the general public to work diligently in order to attain the set objective, and asserted that the regional Administration would back up the implementation of the envisaged programs.
