He explained that the Center is actively engaged in supplying information to research studies  undertaken at the national level, documenting materials produced by individuals or institutions and carrying out research works. It particularly gives top attention to the task of bequeathing the nation’s rich history to future generations, he added.

Noting the significance of digitalized equipments in the easy accessibility of information and sound documentation of materials, Mr. Yohannes indicated that the process of digitalizing the preserved documents by the Center is progressing well.

Meanwhile, the Center, in collaboration with the Eritrean Bookshops and Information Association, has offered various courses focusing on document preservation to staff members and that of other institutions. Besides, it gave two-year long courses in the Eritrean Institute of Technology and the Asmara Business College. There are also plans to give similar training in the administrative regions, he elaborated.

In this respect,  he called on all institutions to collaborate with the Center, in addition to being cautious of possible damages as digitalized mode of operation is closely interlinked with network system and internet service.
