Senafe Sub-Zone: Need For Vigorous Efforts For Harvesting Crops On Time

Members of the farming community in Senafe sub-zone were called upon to reinforce popular campaign in harvesting the farmlands that are in good condition before they are damaged by late rains. Senafe, 8 October 2010 – Members of the farming community in Senafe sub-zone were called upon to reinforce popular campaign in harvesting the farmlands that are in good condition before they are damaged by late rains. 

Speaking in a meeting, the Head of PFDJ Bureau in the Southern region, Ms. Gebreslasie Negash, commended the tasks accomplished through popular campaign this year in the sub-zone as regards promoting soil and water conservation, enhancing reforestation and combating deforestation, as well as supporting families of fallen heroes.

He also urged the farming community to make optimum use of  micro-dams and water reservoirs which have impounded sufficient amount of water in facilitating irrigation farming, besides collecting the required animal feed.

The farmers said on their part that the advice and support provided by the Agriculture Ministry and administrative bodies, coupled with good rain season played major role in this year’s promising crop harvest. They further highlighted the need for harvesting the farmlands of martyrs’ families on priority basis through popular campaign.
