Hagaz, 9 January 2011 – The dairy cattle breeding unit at Hagaz Agriculture Technical School is playing significant role in meeting market demand, stated the coordinator of the scheme, Mr. Abdu Mohammed.
He told ERINA that the unit is putting up strenuous effort in breeding quality dairy cattle on priority basis, and that the supply of its products is benefiting city residents in Keren and Asmara. Mr. Abdu went to say that modern equipments are being introduced to further boost the product.
Indicating that cattle breeding activities in the school are enabling students of Animal Science to follow up practical lessons, he explained that 60% of some 200 liters of milk obtained daily are directly channeled to customers, and the remaining portion is being processed into different kinds of dairy products for the benefit of the students.
