Eritrea Festival in Australia and New Zealand conducted with enthusiasm

The 11th Eritrea Festival in Australia and New Zealand opened on January 7 in an enthusiastic manner under the theme “Our Resolute Rebuff is Continuous”. The four-day Festival being staged in Melbourne City features different programs for children, youth and adults.

Asmara, 9 January 2011 – The 11th Eritrea Festival in Australia and New Zealand opened on January 7 in an enthusiastic manner under the theme “Our Resolute Rebuff is Continuous”. The four-day Festival being staged in Melbourne City features different programs for children, youth and adults.

Mr. Girmai Gebremariam, Eritrean Ambassador to the US and Canada, who was Guest of Honor at the event, opened an exhibition that highlights the all-round development drive in the Homeland.

In an opening speech, the Consul General in Australia and New Zealand, Mr. Beshir Idris Nur, pointed out that enemy conspiracy in 2010 was foiled through the steadfastness of the Eritrean people both inside the country and abroad, as well as members of the Defence Force. He went on to explain that the nation is marching towards a bright future. Mr. Beshir also called for reinforcing the national Resolute Rebuff for achieving still more gratifying outcome.

In the course of the Festival, a seminar by an Eritrean government delegation would be conducted, in addition to the staging of cultural and sports shows, as well as Parents’ Day and entertainment programs.
