Tessenei, 21 January 2011 – The public health safety branch in Tessenei town would enhance activities in controlling the quality of consumption goods, according to Mr. Sium Gebremedhin, head of the branch office.
He indicated that the office is actively engaged in supervising the neatness of enterprises and employees, ensuring competence and standard, as well as controlling expired items, among others. Mr. Sium further explained that financial punishment was taken last year against enterprises that showed weakness in the service they provide, in addition to burning down expired property.
Noting that all service-rendering institutions are carrying out sanitation campaign twice a week, he stated that the branch office is stepping up quality control activities. Mr. Sium also urged businessmen to refrain from storing and selling expired goods taking into account their dire consequence to public health.
