Asmara, July 15 2011 – Eritrean Airlines disclosed that direct international flights to six countries including Sudan, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Italy and the United Arab Emirates will commence tomorrow July 16.
An Airbus 320 of the Airlines landed at Asmara International Airport on July 13 and was accorded warm welcome by ministers, high government officials and invited guests.
Following the official inauguration the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Woldemichael Abraha, headed the guests during a tour of the Airbus 320.
At a press conference during the event, the CEO of Eritrean Airlines, Mr. Shakil Aftab, said that the Airlines is ready to launch a new start after thoroughly revising the previous structure, passengers’ fair, commercial policy and hiring new personnel.
Noting that Eritrea possesses unique quality for its geographical positioning, Mr. Shakil pointed out that the Airlines is doing its level best to make Eritrea an aviation doorway to Africa and the heart of regional flights, Asmara.
