A total of 80 needy families in Adi- Hamushte, Adi-Laguen, Adi-Tsenaf and Adi-Keih , all in Gala-Nefhi sub-zone of the Central region, have been rehabilitated through poultry farming. Asmara, 27 September 2011- A total of 80 needy families in Adi- Hamushte, Adi-Laguen, Adi-Tsenaf and Adi-Keih , all in Gala-Nefhi sub-zone of the Central region, have been rehabilitated through poultry farming.
The rehabilitation move carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture is a continuation of government efforts to upgrade the lifestyle of needy families, families of fallen heroes and disabled citizens, stated Mr. Henok Tekle, head of poultry farming unit in the Central region.
Ms. Birkti Mehari, one of the beneficiaries, expressed conviction that the support would play significant role in improving her family’s standard of living.
There exist more than 56 thousand hens including hybrid ones, and about 15 thousand hens of other type in the region.
