Micro-dam constructed in Kaluq ensures potable water supply to local inhabitants

A Micro-dam constructed in Kaluq Administrative area at a total cost of 2.6 million Nakfa is providing reliable potable water supply to the inhabitants and livestock, according to the  Administrator of the area, Mr. Jimi’e Haji Mahmoud.

Keren, 29 September 2011-  A Micro-dam constructed in Kaluq Administrative area at a total cost of 2.6 million Nakfa is providing reliable potable water supply to the inhabitants and livestock, according to the  Administrator of the area, Mr. Jimi’e Haji Mahmoud.

He explained that previously the local inhabitants used to face problem of potable water supply but at present thanks to the rainfall of the past summer, the water of the micro-dam would ensure reliable water supply.

Mr. Jimi’e further explained that the Micro-dam would play vital role in enriching underground water and called on the local inhabitants to make optimum use of the water.

In addition the Administration of Kaluq has installed 2-km- long pipelines and 3 water reservoirs and that water project is under implementation.
