Tessenei, 5 November 2011- Experimented Sunflower seed in Tessenei-Aligider Agricultural Project have registered satisfactory outcome besides gaining acceptance by the farmers, according to reports.
Mr. Meseret Tesfamichael, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch office in the region, said that the experiment was conducted on a number of oil seeds, particularly sunflower seed, and that satisfactory outcome has been registered. He further pointed out that in the next cultivation season, 50% of the land would witness extensive cultivation of oil seeds and cereals.
He further explained that in addition to the economic benefit that would be obtained from oil seeds, they make due contribution in enriching soil fertility.
