Adi-Shegala inhabitants finalize preparations for rain-fed farming

The inhabitants of Adi-Shegala village, Goluj sub-zone, said that they have finalized preparations for rain-fed farming which involved implementation of soil and water conservation techniques within farming areas.

Goluj, 13 June 2013 – The inhabitants of Adi-Shegala village, Goluj sub-zone, said that they have finalized preparations for rain-fed farming which involved implementation of soil and water conservation techniques within farming areas.

Among the inhabitants, Ms. Fatina Ali, Mr. Tikue Abraha, Mr. Abubeker Osman and Ms. Letemichael Gebreamlak pointed out that they could previously secure higher harvest on the basis of such preparations, and expressed conviction that the current venture would make similar impact. They further indicated that the community’s awareness to this end is on the rise, leading to an integrated popular undertaking of this type.

Mr. Red’e Bahlibi, head of economic development in the sub-zone, stated that the locality is endowed with fertile plains vis-à-vis farmers’ extensive rain-fed farming experience. He also explained that the preparation made by the farmers in Adi-Shegala is part of the endeavors being exerted by the sub-zone so as to secure bountiful harvest.
