Eritrean community members in the Republic of South Sudan marked Martyrs Day with patriotic fervor through conducting candlelight event on the eve of the Day.

Asmara, 21 June 2013 – Eritrean community members in the Republic of South Sudan marked Martyrs Day with patriotic fervor through conducting candlelight event on the eve of the Day.

Reports indicated that various programs were also staged during the occasion highlighting the heroic feats of fallen heroes and the trying moments challenged by the Eritrean people, besides the citizenry’s indebtedness to the tribute of martyrs.

Representing the Eritrean Embassy in Juba, Mr. Tekle Gebremeskel called on nationals to reiterate their pledge of honoring the trust of martyrs in connection with the Day, besides mounting staunch resistance against external conspiracies. He further lauded the community members for the initiatives they have taken towards patronizing families of fallen heroes.
