Minister of Local Government passes away

 

Veteran fighter Mr. Woldemichael Gebremariam, Minister of Local Government, today passed away at the age of 72 in Keren city during his return from a working visit in Gash-Barka region.

Asmara, 04 August 2013 – Veteran fighter Mr. Woldemichael Gebremariam, Minister of Local Government, today passed away at the age of 72 in Keren city during his return from a working visit in Gash-Barka region.

Mr. Woldemichael, one of the founders of the Eritrean Liberation Movement (Haraka) and the EPLF, has served in various capacities with dedication here in the Homeland and abroad in the course of the armed struggle for independence, as well as the nation-building process.

The funeral ceremony of the late Woldemichael, who is married and a father of 3, would be conducted next Tuesday at the Martyrs cemetery in Asmara.

The Eritrean Government conveys condolences to the family and companions of the dear departed Minister.
