Association of Dairy Farmers in Segeneiti sub-zone assesses annual accomplishment

The Association of Dairy Farmers in Segeneiti sub-zone which was established before 7 years has assessed annual accomplishment, and stated that it has registered remarkable impact as regards expanding its activities.

Segeneti, 19 February 2014­­­ – The Association of Dairy Farmers in Segeneiti sub-zone which was established before 7 years has assessed annual accomplishment, and stated that it has registered remarkable impact as regards expanding its activities.

Presenting a report at the meeting, Mr. Hailat Andu, Chairman of the Association, outlined future undertakings and the activities carried out last year, namely pertaining to training and extending support to member farmers, besides explaining the positive sides and challenges witnessed.

Also speaking at the meeting, Mr. Mesfin Kidane, Head of livestock resource in the sub-zone, said that the number of members vis-à-vis that of their cattle has raised from 26 to 116 and 84 to 498 respectively. He also indicated that a total of 1,450 quintals of green feed could be harvested, thus giving rise to obtainig 73,000 liters of milk.

Dr. Ogbazgi Kifle, Head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the Southern region, pointed out that the Association has demonstrated exemplary performance and dynamism, and that efforts would be exerted to further strengthen its activities.

Likewise, Mr. Abebe Aregai, Administrator of Segeneiti sub-zone, called on the members to strive for still more gratifying achievement, and expressed the Administration’s readiness to extend support to them.

Exemplary members received awards on the occasion.
