The Eritrean Institute of technology (EIT) stated that it has been exerting efforts towards launching new faculties on the basis of development of expertise following its establishment in the year 2004.

Asmara, 04 July 2014 – The Eritrean Institute of technology (EIT) stated that it has been exerting efforts towards launching new faculties on the basis of development of expertise following its establishment in the year 2004.

Prof. Tesfamichael Haile, Vice President of the Institute, indicated that a total of 8 new fields of study could be introduces as a result of the endeavors made, and that it currently comprise 3 colleges, namely, the College of Science, College of Engineering and College of Education.

He went on to explain that the Institute is fully equipped at present, and thus favoring student excellence.

Accordingly, the Institute has also been strengthening relations with educational institutions abroad, subsequently is in a position to launch 5 post-graduate fields of study and nurture new lecturers right after 2 years.

Reports indicate that a total of 8,500 students have graduated from the EIT in Bachelors degree and diploma over the past 10 years, and that the number of female admissions has shown growth by 30%.

Moreover, more than 20 post graduate students from the Institute have published their theses at various journals abroad, while it commenced its first journal of this kind recently.
