An Italian medical doctors group providing service for the 4th time here has carried out successful cardiac surgery on a total of 14 children in Orotta National Referral Hospital.

Asmara, October 2014 – An Italian medical doctors group providing service for the 4th time here has carried out successful cardiac surgery on a total of 14 children in Orotta National Referral Hospital.

Dr. Bruno Murzi, who led the group, pointed out that the operation involved repair and replacement of worn out of heart veins, as well as the provision of the necessary medicaments for the remaining patients.

Dr. Nadia Assanta, who came here for the fourth time, said that unless infants with throat ailment receive timely treatment, they could be exposed to heart disease.

Likewise, Dr. Giovanni Lombardi, coming here for the second time, stated that he was impressed with the enthusiasm demonstrated by the participating Eritrean health personnel in the process.

Dr. Guadalupe Capizzano from Argentina, who came to the country for the 6th time, on her part commended the professional zeal of native medical professionals.
