Sub-zonal Administrator stresses active popular participation in development programs

The head of economic development in Adi-Tekelezan sub-zone, Mr. Berhane Kahsai, called on the general public to enhance participation in the implementation of development and infrastructure programs.
Adi-Tekelezan, 5 October 2010 – The head of economic development in Adi-Tekelezan sub-zone, Mr. Berhane Kahsai, called on the general public to enhance participation in the implementation of development and infrastructure programs.

He indicated that the construction of 8 micro-dams and 3 water reservoirs in the sub-zone are playing major role in promoting irrigation farming in the nearby farmlands, on top of their contribution in providing reliable potable water supply to the inhabitants along with their livestock. There are also plans to cultivate over 250 hectares below the newly constructed Dekemhare micro-dam, Mr. Berhane added.

The local inhabitants stated that their cattle have already secured sufficient animal feed and commended the contribution of agricultural experts in the sub-zone in ensuring animal health.
