Rahaita, 6 October 2010 – Basic social services have been put in place in Rahaita semi-urban center, South Denkalia sub-zone, at substantial government expenditure that is paving the way for speedy urbanization, according to Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Ali Diesa, Acting head of the area.

He indicated that prior to independence, there existed no social service or educational service in the area except single makeshift tent that used to provide education. At present, however, well-equipped school, health station, potable water supply and electricity services have been introduced thanks to the Government’s endeavors.

The local inhabitants expressed satisfaction with the provision of potable water supply in their respective areas, well-organized health station and educational institution, as well as a youth recreation center, among others.

Mr. Mohammed further pointed out that despite the fact there exists community magistrate in the semi-urban center, the local inhabitants quite often settle disputes through reconciliation on the basis of customary law, thus not wasting time in courts. There is also a kindergarten in the area that is providing proper service.
