Popular campaign underway to reduce traffic accident in Barentu

The residents of Barentu town expressed commitment to back up the ongoing activities towards reducing traffic accident which is causing human and material damage. They said that popular efforts to minimize accidents would continue in an enhanced manner. Barentu, 21 February 2011 – The residents of Barentu town expressed commitment to back up the ongoing activities towards reducing traffic accident which is causing human and material damage. The head of services in the town, Mr. Geresus Gebregergis, indicated that trees that have been causing traffic accidents in roads are being removed through popular campaign.

The head of traffic police in Gash-Barka region, Maj. Habte Gebru, noted the significance of the activities being carried out in collaboration with the Barentu sub-zonal Administration, and that similar steps would be taken along the Agordat-Aderde road and Tessenei-Talatasher route.
