Dubarwa, 21 February 2011 – Construction of electricity distribution sub-station in Dubarwa would begin soon so as to adequately meet power supply demand as it is becoming the hub of industrialization, stated Mr. Berhe Bereqe, head of electricity service in the sub-zone.
He told ERINA that the construction of the sub-station would help to upgrade the power capacity that was supplied from Mendefera, and as such it would meet the electricity demand of various enterprises. Study has also been finalized on ways of installing power supply in 12 villages in Dubarewa sub-zone.
The head of administration and finance, Mr. Gidei Stifanos, indicated on his part that the task of equipping schools with the necessary facilities is among the major programs of the Southern regional Administration. To this end, efforts are underway to tackle classroom shortage in Dubarwa Secondary School, in addition to the construction of a laboratory, he added.
Mr. Gidei further pointed out that the endeavors made to control trachoma disease have borne fruitful outcome and commended the local inhabitants for taking active participation in the program.
