Inhabitants Of Adi-Tekelezan Sub-Zone To Reinforce Soil And Water Conservation Activities

In a meeting with village representatives and area administrators, the Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, called on the inhabitants of Adi-Tekelezan sub-zone to channel the commendable experience acquired in soil and water conservation activities to the goal of achieving food security.
Adi-Tekelezan, 25 March 2011 – In a meeting with village representatives and area administrators, the Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, called on the inhabitants of Adi-Tekelezan sub-zone to channel the commendable experience acquired in soil and water conservation activities to the goal of achieving food security.

He said that every farmer is duty-bound to make due contribution in constructing embankments, promoting forestry and conserving soil and water. Stressing the need for diverting river waters for agricultural purposes, Mr. Gergis indicated that rules and regulations pertaining to deforestation have been adopted and would soon be put into effect.

The Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Kafel Mussa, on  his part urged the inhabitants to reinforce participation in efforts to establish reserve area and promote sound ecology.
