Keren, 6 May 2011 – The two-day symposium of Anseba region in Keren town concluded today. In closing remarks, the regional Administrator, Mr. Gergis Girmai, noted the demanding task of organizing the symposium highlighting the accomplishments of the past 20 years.
Indicating that the assessment made properly highlighted the advantages and shortcomings of the programs implemented, he pointed out that it would make due contribution to the effective implementation of the envisaged 5-year action plan.
A study paper presented at the symposium outlined the vigorous efforts exerted through the collaboration of the Government and Eritrean nationals at home and abroad towards promoting the social wellbeing of citizens. It further indicated that over 416 million Nakfa was disbursed in benefit scheme to families of martyrs, as well as disabled nationals.
An exhibition depicting the accomplishments of the region over the past 20 years was staged alongside the symposium which won acclaim on the part of the participants and Keren residents.
