Farmers of Fruits and vegetables called upon to judiciously utilize water resource

The Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, has called on the famers of fruits and vegetables to judiciously utilize water resource at their disposal. Keren, 12 August 2011- The Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, has called on the famers of fruits and vegetables to judiciously utilize water resource at their disposal.
In a meeting, he conducted with the famers association in the region, the regional Administrator indicated that the different water facilities constructed in the region have been the main supply the resource, in addition to the efforts made the farmers themselves to have obtain harvest twice a year.

He further explained that preparations have been made to identify the land suitable for growing coffee and mango, and beginning investments to this end.

Mr. Gergis urged dairy farmers to concentrate the methods that they apply in the breeding of livestock, as well as farmers of vegetables and fruits to look for suitable environment and land.
Members of the association on their part expressed satisfaction with the Government’s efforts to reinforce irrigation farming initiatives.
