The prevailing peace and stability in Eritrea giving added momentum to development of tourism sector

The development being registered in the tourism sector is the outcome of the prevailing peace and stability in the country, stated Eritrean nationals living abroad who visited the port city of Massawa. Massawa, 12 August 2011- The development being registered in the tourism sector is the outcome of the prevailing peace and stability in the country, stated Eritrean nationals living abroad who visited the port city of Massawa.
They told ERINA that the ongoing development programs, including infrastructure facilities indicate the concerted endeavors of the people and Government. Moreover, the historical sites in the city and the attractive environment induce many tourists to visit the port city of Massawa.

The nationals also noted that the awareness of the society as regards domestic tourism continues to grow, and the public has made due contribution in expanding the tourism sector through up keeping the cleanliness of the cities.

Ms. Meaza Habte from the USA and Ms. Suzie Embayie from London expressed appreciation to the service provided by various service-rendering organizations.
In the past six months, Massawa was visited by 42 thousand tourists from inside the country and abroad, according to the Ministry of Tourism’s branch office in the Northern Red Sea region.
