Agriculture Minister calls for introduction of green animal feed

The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, called for the introduction of green animal feed that plays vital role in raising milk production.
Elaberid, 18 October 2011- The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, called for the introduction of green animal feed that plays vital role in raising milk production.

During an inspection tour to Elaberid Agro-Industry, Mr. Arefaine urged farmers to apply irrigation system for the cultivation green animal feed, and thereby raise milk production.

He further indicated that Elaberid Agro-Industry has been playing vital role in enriching biodiversity, and reminded the stuff of the Agro-Industry to preserve resources. The Minister also indicated that ensuring milk supply is one of the main purposes of ensuring food security, and hence milk producers need to get the necessary advice and training for raising production. He also called on them to make due contribution in soil and water conservation campaigns.
