Students’ week conducts in Gogni, Mensura and Barentu sub-zones

Reports indicated that Students Week has been conducted in Gogni, Mensura and Barentu sub-zones with a view to fostering academic and cultural activities and laying the groundwork for youths to identify their inclination Sports activities, debating and general knowledge contests, as well as other activities were staged during the event, in which active participation of all schools was witnessed.

Barentu, 28 April 2013-   Reports indicated that Students Week has been conducted in Gogni, Mensura and Barentu sub-zones with a view to fostering academic and cultural activities and laying the groundwork for youths to identify their inclination Sports activities, debating and general knowledge contests, as well as other activities were staged during the event, in which active participation of all schools was witnessed.

Mr. Abubeker Mohammed, Administrator of Gogni sub-zone, called on students to preserve values of the society, reinforce their innovative capacity, and exchange experiences through staging different sports and cultural activities and that it is his strong conviction that such activities would have significant contribution.

Likewise, Mr. Mahmud Idris, head of MOE branch office in Mensura sub-zone, indicated that the students’ week being conducted on yearly basis is part of the academic education and that the occasion would provide students the opportunity to identify their inclinations and develop it.

Further more, Mr. Napoleon Yosief, head of schools in Barentu sub-zone, pointed out that the efforts aimed at nurturing youths equipped with knowledge as well as matured with sports and arts should start from the lower level of education and called on for its sustainability.
