Families of martyrs in Afabet and Ginda sub-zones commended the caring gesture for them on the part of fellow nationals and the Government.
Asmara, 21 June 2013 – Families of martyrs in Afabet and Ginda sub-zones commended the caring gesture for them on the part of fellow nationals and the Government.
Among the inhabitants of Afabet sub-zone, Mr. Seid Ali, Mr. Idris Mohammed-Idris and Ms. Bereka Mohammed-Ali voiced pride for the martyrdom of their family members.
Ms. Fatina Haj, head of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Afabet sub-zone, indicated that a number of nationals in the Homeland and abroad have been extending continued financial support to families of fallen heroes, including those living in the locality. She further disclosed that 20 families of martyrs have been rehabilitated on the basis of several income-generating activities, besides the payment of more than 7 million Nakfa in benefit scheme and a community-based fundraising deposit amounting more than 100, 000 Nakfa.
Among the members of the families in Ginda sub-zone, Ms. Amna Mohammed, Ms. Arhet Mahmoud voiced satisfaction with the support being extended by the people and the government.
Moreover, over 462,000 Nakfa was donated by the inhabitants of the sub-zone in connection with Martyrs Day, and the families of martyrs were handed 6,000 Nakfa each.
Mr. Twolde Tesfazgi, head of administration and finance in the sub-zonal administration of Ginda, lauded the initiative of the inhabitants.
