Inhabitants of Adi-Keih sub-zone engage in popular undertaking with a view to renovating Egila-Demhina road
The sub-zonal Administration of Adi-Keih indicated that the inhabitants are engaged in popular undertaking with a view to renovating Egila-Demhina road and carrying out other environment-bound activities.
Adi-Keih, 24 December 2013 – The sub-zonal Administration of Adi-Keih indicated that the inhabitants are engaged in popular undertaking with a view to renovating Egila-Demhina road and carrying out other environment-bound activities.
Mr. Idris Hassan, coordinator of projects in the Administration, disclosed that the communal venture is witnessing a daily participation of more than 2,000 individuals, thus giving rise to the construction of around 2,300 Km-long terraces and water catchment walls measuring about 8,000 meters to date. The renovation of the road has covered a distance of 228 Km, while a number of tree seedlings have been planted by the communities.
Among the inhabitants, Mr. Osman Mussa and Ms. Fatuma Mussa expressed satisfaction with taking part in the task, and said that active community participation is being witnessed in the process. They also asserted that they would sustain such initiative in the future.
