Reports indicated that students in Hamelmalo College of Agriculture have called for proper conservation of historical trenches where various heroic feats were witnessed. They made the call during a tour they made last weekend, during which they said that the trenches are a heritage for future generations.
Keren, 15 May 2014 – Reports indicated that students in Hamelmalo College of Agriculture have called for proper conservation of historical trenches where various heroic feats were witnessed. They made the call during a tour they made last weekend, during which they said that the trenches are a heritage for future generations.
The students were given briefings by Veteran Fighter Col. Jabera Humed as regards the challenging moments endured by freedom fighters in the trenches vis-à-vis their steadfastness and dedication. He further expressed satisfaction with sharing such experience with the young generation, and called on youths in general and College students in particular to raise awareness as regards the nation’s history and thereby enhance role in popularization of national values.
Among the students, Miriam Yosef, Mibrak Berhane and Ibrahim Musa voiced satisfaction with the exposure, and lauded those who organized the tour.
Moreover, Mr. Tiumizgi Tesfai, Instructor, and Abdu Adem from the PFDJ office in the College said that further attention should be given to such activities as it inspires the youth’s participation in State affairs.
