A training course was organized with a view to raising the competency of football coaches and sports commissioners in Gash-Barka and thereby inspiring activities of the sports domain in the region.

Barentu, 05 June 2014 – A training course was organized with a view to raising the competency of football coaches and sports commissioners in Gash-Barka and thereby inspiring activities of the sports domain in the region.

The trainees comprise 10 sports commissioners and 47 coaches from the sub-zones of Barentu, Agordat, Tessenei, Haikota, Forto-Sawa, Molqi, Logo-Anseba, Mogolo and Goluj, and the course dealt with coaching rules and ethics, as well as management of matches, according to Mr. Dawit Yohanes and Asefaw Asmerom.

They further called on the beneficiaries of the training to translate the knowledge they have acquired into practice.

In closing remarks, Mr. Rezene Habtom, Head of the Sports Federation in the region, expressed conviction that the training would make significant impact as regards inspiring football activities, and said that the trainees should demonstrate hard work in their respective careers.

Likewise, Mr. Omar Mohammed, Managing director in the regional Administration, said that the Administration is working on priority basis in aid to revive sports activities, and expressed readiness to collaborate in all activities to this end.
