Eritrean athletes Zeresenai and Nazret become champion of Half marathon competition in Massawa

Eritrean athletes Zeresenai Tadese and Nazret Woldu today became champion in half marathon competition taken place in Massawa port city in connection with the Silver Jubilee commemoration of Operation Fenkil.

Massawa, 07 February 2015 – Eritrean athletes Zeresenai Tadese and Nazret Woldu today became champion in half marathon competition taken place in Massawa port city in connection with the Silver Jubilee commemoration of Operation Fenkil.

Athletes from Eritrea, Kenya, Republic of Sudan and Uganda participated in the competition that was organized by the Eritrean National Athletics Federation. Zeresenai ranked first upon concluding the 21-km-long competition by an hour and 1 minute, 37 seconds, while Eritrean athlete Hizkel Tewolde from Denden Club of the Defense Ministry ranked second, besides athlete Girmai Gebreselase from the Southern region Club won third rank.

Meanwhile, in a 10-km-long competition of female’s athlete Nazret Woldu from the Central region ranked first upon finishing the race by 34 minutes and 28 seconds, while athletes Hibret Debesai and Nebiyat Abraham from the Southern region ranked second and third respectively.
